BunkHaus Hostel is located in the heart of Uptown Saint John, NB, right by the waterfront. There's always a lot going on at the Market Square Boardwalk, or branching off Grannan Street. Saint John is a vibrant cultural centre in New Brunswick and is constantly evolving and growing.
Saint John is the oldest incorporated city in Canada and we think it's one of the most fun too. Our nightlife is unbeatable with many microbreweries, world class restaurants, hilarious comedy club, and countless bars.
Looking for something more relaxing? You will love our old City Market, unique shops, history, city parks, walking trails, Reversing Falls, library, museum, and more. If this is your first time in the Maritimes, we highly recommend that you add Saint John and BunkHaus Boutique Hostel to your travel itinerary.
We've always got our ear to the ground for the latest happenings around our beautiful port city and are constantly updating our chalkboard so you know what's happening around our vibrant city. Know of something that's missing? Let one of our staff know and we'll be sure to update it asap. A little far away from our chalkboard? Check out Discover Saint John to find out all the city has to offer.
If you're a foodie, then you will love what our authentic local, Middle Eastern, Indian, Italian, French, and Mexican restaurants have to offer. We also have a Dinner Theater where you can enjoy a show while you eat. On a shoe-string budget? No problem. Grab some groceries from the City Market up the street and prepare your very own dish exactly how you like it right in our communal kitchen.

This little city has it all when it comes to nightlife and we are in the heart of it. Around the corner you'll find an arcade bar where you can enjoy 90's music while playing your favourite old school games like Frogger and Pac-Man, a record bar that keeps old and new vinyl spinning into the night, a quaint whiskey bar with a huge selection of low to high priced scotches and whiskeys, a spot that features one of the best mixologists in Canada, an intimate wine cellar, a sports bar overlooking to the harbour, Irish pubs, multiple microbreweries, and live music happening almost every night around the city's uptown core.

The music scene here is growing fast. We have amazing talent gracing the stages of The Imperial Theater, Harbour Station, BMO Theater, and Kent Theater regularly. We also have free concerts on the Boardwalk every day of the summer, bands playing at smaller venues, and amazing music festivals like Area 506 and Quality Bloc Party.
